USNM: 216441; Finet (2001): The syntypes of Ovulum rufum Sowerby, 1832 are in the British Museum (BMNH 1966364, 4 specimens; loc.= "Bay of Caraccas"). But Cate (1973) confused the syntypes of Simnia rufa lectotype designations for both Simnia rufa and aequalis.
