Finet (2001): Was cited from the Galapagos by Dall (1909). Including the Galapagos Archipelago within the range of this species should be discounted as it has a much more southern (Peruvian and Magellanic) distribution (see also Finet, 1994). Synm.: Fissurella grandis G. B. Sowerby I, 1835, Fissurella violacea Rathke, 1833 (Horton et al., 2021).
