Pulgón, Rusty plum aphid
Plant sap; arid zone, palo santo forest, transition forest, sparse grass, littoral zone, agricultural zone, Miconia zone, scalesia forest, and pampa zone; FIT, malaise, carrion and UV light traps; March-July. Found on grasses (usually at base of spike). Anholocyclic in tropics/subtropics; in North America there is host alternation, with Prunus spp. as primary host; secondary hosts are numerous species of Gramineae.
