Note: The original description of Corydendrium flabellatum was based on sterile material from the Tropical Eastern Pacific. It matches the characteristics of Corydendrium hydroids except for the gonophores, which remain undescribed. It is considered a synonym of C. parasiticum but retained as a distinct species by some researchers (Calder, et al., 2022). Syn.: Corydendrium dendriformis (Ritchie, 1907), Corydendrium sessile Ritchie, 1910, Sertularia parasitica Linnaeus, 1767, Soleniopsis dendriformis Ritchie, 1907, (Horton et al., 2021).
