Cited by Robinson (1902) and Christophersen (1932) citing separate specimens. Wiggins & Porter (1971) seem to imply that this Galapagos records of this species were misidentifications of D. limense (see p. 618). However, D. uncinatum is listed as present in the Galapagos by Jørgensen (1999) and by Guézou collection no. 792 (2020).

Distribution: The native range of this species is Mexico to S. Tropical America (POWO, 2023).
