Yucca gigantea Lem.

It is the largest of the yuccas, being able to exceed 15 m in length. height; it is highly branched, giving it a dense and majestic appearance. At the end of each branch the leaves grouped in clusters appear; They are narrow and lanceolate between 60 and 100 cm long. It is not necessary to fear it for its terminal spine, since it is soft and not very sharp. Its flowers are pendulous whitish bells that gather in huge, showy inflorescences (Málaga, 2022).

The base of the trunk is very swollen, resembling the foot of an elephant, since has its tissues adapted to accumulate water, which will be used as a reservoir for times of drought (Málaga, 2022). It is has environmental uses, as a medicine and for food. (POWO, 2022)
