Bryopsis galapagensis W.R.Taylor

The type species (lectotype) of the genus Bryopsis is Bryopsis pennata J.V.Lamouroux. In Galapagos intertidal zone and pools, moderately frequent on sand near large rocks at about low tide line (Taylor, 1945). INA (2021) UC University Herbarium has a Collection of Marine Algal TYPE of Galapagos I. UC1859198 , AHFH99.

Distribution: Galapagos I.: Isabela, Floreana and Wolf (Silva, 1966). Gulf of California, El Salvador, Perú. Mexico (I. Revillagigedo, 25-32 m, I. Soccoro, 45 m, I. Clarion), Colombia (I. Gorgona), Ecuador (Galapagos Islands: I. Wolf, Pta. Albemarle in Isabela, Post Office Bay in Floreana (Taylor, 1945).
