Finet (2001): the specimens AHF 25-33 and AHF 341-35 in the LACM: were misidentified as Mitra marshalli Bartsch, another Panamic species; Mitra marshalli Bartsch, 1931 is possibly a junior synonym of Mitra muricata Broderip, 1836, of which the type locality “Galapagos Islands” is probably in error, and of which more recent records from the Galapagos are besides probably based on misidentifications of Mitra gausapata Reeve, 1845, MHNG: 993-157, FNRS-Belgian expedition to the Galapagos, 1984
