Syn.: Cypraea acutidentata Gaskoin, 1836, Trivia acutidentata (Gaskoin, 1936) (Horton et al., 2021).; ( Trivia a.) Finet (2001): Cited from the Galapagos by Dall (1909), and Schilder (1941), who placed it in synonymy with Trivia paucilirata (Sowerby, 1870). The only other reference to Trivia acutidentata is based on a worn shell from the Galapagos (FMNH 96037) (see Button, 1906; Solem, 1963). Schilder & Schilder (1971) also placed Pusula pulloidea (Dall & Ochsner, 1928), a Pleistocene fossil described from the Galapagos, within the range of Pusula acutidentata. The question was also discussed in Finet (1994); the species was quoted in Finet (1985) as of doubtful occurrence, but erroneously under the name Trivia paucilirata, which actually does not seem to be a synonym of acutidentata, despite Schilder's assumptions.
