A small glabrous, evergreen undershrub, up to 1.5 m tall with terete branchlets. Flowers bright orange-scarlet with yellow throat; bracts lanceolate (WFO, 2022).
Widely cultivated in the tropics and is also propagated as a pot plant (POWO, 2022).
