Origin: Vagrant

Distribution: Indo-Pacific: East Africa to Hawaii and the Tuamoto Islands. Probably absent from the inland seas of southeast Asia. Eastern Pacific: isolated population at Soccoro Islands, Mexico, including Revillagigedo Islands (Froese and Pauly, 2021).
