Note: Specimens from Cocos Island match Sertularia borneensis descriptions. The species’ nomenclature is unsettled due to similarities with S. tumida, S. maldivensis, and S. tongensis. T. borneensis resembles S. longa in trophosome but differs in gonothecae shape. It has horizontally ribbed gonothecae with two horns, while S. longa has smooth-walled gonothecae with a distal collar. T. borneensis is considered cryptogenic in the Eastern and Central Pacific (Calder, et al., 2022). Previously as Tridentata longa ( from the Galápagos Islands by Calder et al. (2003, as T. longa), based on sterile specimens (Calder, et al., 2022). Syn.: Sertularia borneensis Billard, 1925, Sertularia vervoorti Migotto & Calder, 1998 (Ahyong et al., 2024).

Origin: Cryptogenic
