Annual, 20cm tall, with dark reddish brown or brown seeds (0.8 mm diam) and broadly ovate leaves. Lanceolate-elliptic sepals (Wiggins and Porter, 1971).

Prefers high elevations (Wiggins and Porter, 1971).
