Young twigs densely glandular with white trichomes intermixed, ray-flowers absent and the anthers almost entirely protruding.
In barren lava beds and cinders, from near the coast to above 200m.

Origin: Endemic
Distribution: Species restricted to the east of Santiago Island and Bartolome Island. Common in its range but in Santiago subject to damage by feral animals. Probably stabilized due to the feral animal eradication program, but its recovery depends on the success of this program.
