Thallus thin, continuous to rimose, white to whitish gray; surface shiny or dull, not pruinose; Apothecia prominent to sessile, lirellate; lirellae relatively broad and short, rarely ±elongate, not branched, or very sparsely branched; labia thin, entire, shiny black, not covered by thallus and basally without thalline rim (Opegrapha-like); disc concealed, a thin slit; exciple completely carbonized, carbonization extending below the hymenium; hymenium hyaline, inspers, I–; ascospores hyaline, I+ bluish violet, 8 per ascus, narrowly oblong to fusiform, 25-45 x 7-10 µm, transversely septate, 8-11 celled. Chemistry: No substances found; all spot tests negative.
