The species has dimorphic wings, with upper elevation populations with smaller and seeemingly non-functioning hind (flight) wings.

Scavenger, on dung or humus; arid to pampa zones; January–July, September; in tortoise dung, at baited traps and lights, litter sifting, FIT.
