Glabrous plant with long-hairy, creeping terrestrial branches and pale yellow anthers. The flowers are bright yellow and the stigma is lemon yellow. There are 5 lobes and the seeds are pale brown (Wiggins and Porter, 1971)
Common, often in standing water (Wiggins and Porter, 1971).
