The Galapagos Species Database shares the information about the species from our Natural History Collections.

Pycnoscelus surinamensis (Linnaeus, 1758)

Cucaracha, Surinam cockroach

Scavenger; a parthenogenic species, often living near human habitation. Because it buries itself in soil, it can be carried in earth around plant roots. It is able to invade natural communities.
