Galapagos Species Database
The Galapagos Species Database shares the information about the species from our Natural History Collections.
Anacampsis primigenia
Polilla gelechiide, Twirler moth-gelechiid moth
Many species of Anacampsis have a look similar to that of A. primigenia. Our species is perhaps more similar to A. capyrodes Meyrick, especially in size, although this species has darker, chocolate-brown fore- and hindwings and a more uniformly coloured forewing with a very faint, paler postmedian line. given its rather large size and dark brown wings this species is unlike any other in the galapagos (Landry & Roque, 2010).
Caterpillars feed on the fruits of Ezedeconus Miersii. Specimens have been collected in all months of the year at all elevations.
