Origin: Native
Distribution: It is distributed from South Africa and the Red Sea to the Line Islands, extending north to Japan and Hawaii, and south to Australia. It is also recorded as a vagrant at Clipperton, Cocos Island, and the Pacific coast of Mexico. In the Galápagos Islands, it has been recorded at Floreana and Seymour
