Holacanthus passer Valenciennes, 1846

pez bandera, King angelfish

Dark blue body. Yellow to orange markings on dorsal and anal fins. Round area, "crown" of light blue spots on forehead. Ventral fin of females yellow, males white. Juvenile body yellow to orange with bright blue bands. Size: To about 30 cm, females somewhat smaller than males.

Habitat: shallow-water areas near coral development.
