Size: Lenghts of at least 30 cm. Mottled or blotched shades of brown to olive with numerous small white spots.
Habitat: Reef species that is also encountered along rock-sand interfaces where it forages in reef and sand habitats.

Origin: Native
Distribution: Eastern Pacific, from California and the Gulf of California to Peru, and Galapagos. Southern California to Chile. Revillagigedos, Cocos, Malpelo and Galápagos Islands.
