Gardineroseris planulata (Dana, 1846)

Colonies massive, pale or dark brown columnar structures, with irregular polygonal calyces.

Found on rocky substrates including walls and overhangs. In Galapagos, only a few isolated patches survived the 1982-83 and the 1997-98 El Nino events.
