Taylor no. 34-397; 30 January 1934; abundant on Galaxaura from surf-beaten rocks south of Black Beach Anchorage. Hancock Foundation (Taylor 1945: 263, 264). Notes: Type: tetrasporic, spermatangial and cystocarpic (Taylor, 1945).

Distribution: Galapagos I.: (S. phycophilum) Black Beach Anchorage - Floreana (Taylor, 1945). Floreana (Silva, 1966). (T. phycophila ) America: California, Gulf of California, Mexico and Galapagos Islands (Guiry & Guiry, 2021).
