Rodríguez-Prieto, C. et al. (2007) recombined Fauchea galapagensis W.R. Taylor to Gloiocladia galapagensis (W.R. Taylor) Sánchez & Rodríguez-Prieto, but Fauchea galapagensis f. pygmaea W.R. Taylor was not changed and is therefore kept here as is. Its status is currently not clear.
Origin: Endemic
Distribution: Ecuador: Galapagos I. near an islet in Gardner Bay-Española (Taylor, 1945). Española (Silva, 1966). Galapagos Islands (Miller & Garske, 2011).
