Syn.: Terebra guayaquilensis (E.A. Smith, 1880) (Horton et al., 2021).; (Terebra g.) LACM: AHF 808-38; Finet (2001): In old literature, Terebra guayaquilensis is not recorded as a species from the Galapagos. On the contrary, Terebra elata Hinds, 1844 is mentioned from the Galapagos in Keen (1971), and T. guayaquilensis was considered to be a synonym of T. elata in Keen (1971). Actually, the two forms of T. elata figured by Bratcher & Burch in Keen (1971) belong to two species which must be considered separate (Bratcher, 1979). According to Bratcher (pers. comm.), the true Terebra elata does not seem to occur in the Galapagos, and the previous records of “T. elata “ from the archipelago are probably referable to guayaquilensis (Bratcher, pers. comm., 1983). However, and illogically, the Galapagos are not mentioned within the distribution range of Terebra guayaquilensis in Bratcher & Cernohorsky (1987). Syn.: Myurella belcheri E.A.
